Junior Cricket
Building Skills, Team Spirit and a Lifelong Love for the Game
Our Junior Cricket program supports kids aged 10 to 16 as they develop their skills, grow in confidence, and experience the fun of team cricket in a supportive environment. Whether your child is continuing on from Cricket Blast or joining cricket for the first time, there’s a place for them at HDRCC.

What is Junior Cricket?
Junior cricket follows the Cricket Australia Junior Formats, designed to match each child’s stage of development. Games are shorter, rules are simpler, and the focus is on enjoyment, participation and fair play.
We offer three stages of Junior Cricket:
Stage 1 (approx. ages 9–11):
Played on a smaller pitch with fewer players, a softer ball, and simplified rules to maximise involvement and enjoyment.Stage 2 (approx. ages 11–13):
Games begin to resemble senior cricket more closely, with a slightly longer pitch, real leather ball, and traditional batting and bowling roles.Stage 3 (approx. ages 13–16):
Full-format junior cricket that prepares players for senior competition. Strategy, technique and teamwork come together at this level. Our coaching is tailored to each age and stage, ensuring every child has the chance to improve, have fun and be part of a team.
