Club History
The “Railway Bulldogs” had a stop start beginning in the early 1900’s. The club was initiated in 1917 before coming into prominence in the 1961/62 season. After a few name changes and 99 years on, HDRCC has earned an enviable reputation for being a strong local cricket club that has enjoyed considerable success along the way.
Since the club’s inception we have been privileged to have won an impressive 52 TRC Championships, these include:
- 14 x Club Championships
- 13 x A Grade Championships
- 12 x Reserve Grade Championships
- 11 x B Grade Championships
- 5 x C Grade Championships
- 10 x D Grade Championships
- 1 x Colts (U17) Championship
- 1 x Colts (U17) Championship
HDRCC is the only club in the history of the Toowoomba Cricket Association to have secured all five (5) premierships in the one season. Currently HDRCC has over 250 Junior and Senior players who enjoy the camaraderie and team spirit that the game of cricket embraces and has produced players such as:
- Greg Ritchie
- Brent Henschell; and
- Andy Bichel.
Our club is the Family club and our philosophy is ONE CLUB ONE TEAM, and through the generous support of sponsors we are fulfilling our goals of giving bang for buck in return. This stems from our juniors rite through to our senior ranks.
